Chapter Five: The Street Dogs.

The Doorbell Rang, Zari opened the front door.

Cleaning Man: Hello Ma’am Good Morning, How are you? I haven’t seen you this week. I thought you might have gone somewhere. I have been ringing your doorbell every morning but you didn’t open the door even for once.

Zari: Haha, I haven’t gone anywhere. I find it difficult to wake up early in the morning. Leave it. How have you been?

Cleaning Man: I am well. If you have trash you can give me.

Zari: Sure, Wait for a moment. …..(Zari picked up the trash from the kitchen) Here it is.

Cleaning Man: Bye Ma’am.

Zari: Bye 👋 ( Still standing at the door)

A woman walked upstairs and suddenly she took off one of her slippers to threaten a street dog who was sitting at her door “ Get out of here, I am disgusted, I see this dirty dog sitting at my door and sleeping every day, Huh”. The poor dirty dog walked downstairs quietly without any reaction. He was big enough to harm that lady but he chose not to.

Later on, Zari told the whole incident to her friends, explaining how funny the scene was that the woman took her slipper off and shouted at the Dog in her mother tongue.

Six street dogs lived around Zari’s place. Zari’s neighbours usually fed those dogs. Some people from upstairs were too feeding them regularly. Even though the people sometimes have to shout at them, these dogs never attack anybody and Whenever someone or Zari enters the common gate these dogs run after the person in a friendly and loving manner, hoping to get fed by the person. That’s how they learned how to survive among human beings.

Zari also started feeding those dogs and whenever they saw Zari, they started jumping happily and running here and there hilariously. Even one of the dogs started spending her entire day sleeping near her balcony.
